In tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers, no.1 seed in the West, the Minnesota Timberwolves, faced a series of unfortunate events. Big man Karl-Anthony Towns, as previously reported, is out with a torn meniscus in his left knee. But that wasn’t their only setback! Just five seconds into the game, Timberwolves’ superstar Anthony Edwards sprained his ankle and limped off to the locker room. Thankfully, he did return to the game. However, fans were left frustrated by the team’s string of bad luck.

Fan reactions on the internet ranged from, “Minnesota is cursed. This sucks.” to “How did this team collapse in the last 24 hours” when they saw the Ant-Man limping off the court.

Soon after returning, the Ant-Man faced another injury scare. He landed hard on his back while fouling Jalen Smith under the basket late in the first quarter. He went back to the locker room again but returned after a few minutes. This incident highlighted the cloud of injury hanging over Edwards, who needs to be cautious.

Playoffs Dream Comes Crashing Down?

On ESPN’s First Take, NBA insider Brian Windhorst addressed how the Wolves could still finish the season strong, “I do believe in the Wolves because of their defense. Their defense can travel, and they give Denver, it’s a real matchup situation for Denver. So I am a believer in the Wolves even though they haven’t advanced in the playoffs literally in 20 years. I mean, I have said Anthony Edwards was basically in diapers the last time this team won a playoff series.”
