The Warriors vs Wolves matchup has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. First, Curry got injured, and now? Draymond Green has just been slapped with a massive $50,000 fine as per a recent tweet by the NBA Communications account on X. Honestly, this was not a point of surprise considering the interaction he had with the officials.

As per Shams, Draymond questioned the integrity of the game officials and referred to the 5.5 spread betting number. Even though the Warriors forward played a huge role in all of their championships thus far, his rambunctious personality always lands him in trouble. So much so that fans don’t even bat an eye when he gets hit with a new fine or suspension.

But what does Steve Kerr, the GSW head coach have to say about this fine, and possible suspension? “I talked to him. Told him he has to tread the line and not cross it.” Kerr said on the show 95.7 The Game. “I hope we can extend our playoff run. But yeah, I have spoken to him about it.”

His words show a deep sense of understanding of who Draymond Green is as a player. Kerr, having spent years with the former DPOY, knows that he plays his best basketball when he is fired up. However, the coach rightly condemned his actions during Game 3 of the conference semifinals.

But Kerr also gave credit where credit was due. “I thought he showed great restraint last night with a very tech heavy crew traditionally, and he emerged unscathed.” He said about Draymond, which highlights the other aspect of who he is–a team player. Whatever the six-foot-seven forward does, he does it for the benefit of his team, or his teammates.

The four-time champion was involved in quite a few defining moments throughout this series. Keeping aside this interaction with the referees, his performance in Game 3 ended with an unfortunate foul-out and a few free-throws that secured the game for Minnesota. But what exactly happened with Draymond that suddenly changed the game? Let’s find out!

Draymond Green’s foul trouble gave Minnesota a path to victory

As controversial as Draymond might be, his performance in the third game of the conference semis was hampered by the officiating without a doubt. Although the six-foot-seven forward did not affect scoring all that much, his defensive presence was important for the team’s success.

He had picked up his fouls quite early, getting called for his fourth during the 3rd quarter. But his last two fouls? They changed the tide of the game significantly. Green fouled out of the game with under 5 minutes left in play when the Warriors were down by two.

But their nightmares just wouldn’t end as Jaden McDaniels was sent to the line to shoot two foul shots after Draymond’s night was over. And as luck would have it, the gap maintained. Even though everyone talked about Anthony Edwards’ 36 point explosion, but McDaniels’ contributions were what ultimately put the Warriors over the line.

Although Draymond Green’s foul trouble led to the Warriors bearing another loss, his presence can also be the X-Factor they need to brave it out till Game 6! With the return of Stephen Curry on everyone’s minds, the Golden State camp is looking to steal a victory from the jaws of defeat.

It will be interesting to see how this series goes forward, especially with the narratives and the circumstances surrounding it. Without Curry, the future is looking bleak for the Warriors, but all hope is not lost yet! Can GSW stage an incredible comeback? Stay tuned for all the action!
