Iowa Phenom Caitlin Clark Earns “Legend” Status For Fulfilling Aspirations of Every Youngster

The last season’s national championship saw Iowa go down 85-102 against the LSU Tigers. But this year, Caitlin Clark and her Hawkeyes beat LSU a little early to advance to their second consecutive Final Four. There is no doubt that Clark has garnered the respect of almost everyone, top players and the public alike. And why wouldn’t she? The 22-year-old Iowa native has been breaking and making records like nobody’s business.
Her resume is more than enough to showcase the phenomenal talent that Caitlin Clark has. And when faced against a solid Tigers team this time, she rose to the occasion, dropping 41 points, 12 assists, and seven rebounds. Just like that, Iowa defeated LSU 94-87. But what this win and the success of a 6’0 point guard means to many young hoopers, both boys and girls, was well said by Nick Wright in the First Things First podcast. He said, “This was a legendary performance by a legendary player.”
The official X account of the show further posted a clip of the same, which said, “For a decade, young basketball players have said, ‘I want to be Steph Curry.’ No one has succeeded. Now, Caitlin Clark has.”

Wright also mentioned how it was Stephen Curry who changed the landscape of basketball. The traditional features of players – tall, big, and athletic; none of these mattered to the 6’2, 185-pound 4x champion of the Warriors. Watching a slender, short Curry streak through the court, leaving his opponents biting the dust, provided hope for all those young hoopers who did not fit into the traditional attributes of a basketball player.
They now don’t think of how they are going to be the biggest or the most athletic player on the court. Rather, they focus on how to be dominant. And now, they have someone else, too. Caitlin Clark, according to the FS1 host, is the first player to pull out the proverbial sword from the stone. Many have tried but failed. But not the 4x First-Team All-American – USBWA. She will only continue to succeed.
And it seems like Wright isn’t the only one who has similar thoughts.

Luka Doncic is thrilled watching Caitlin Clark dominate the court
It seems like Luka Doncic had tuned in to watch Caitlin Clark destroy the LSU Tigers. And he loved what he saw. When Doncic was asked what he thought of Clark’s brilliant performance, he was practically beaming with joy as he replied, “That’s the women’s Steph Curry. She can shoot it better than me.”
He was also joined by Celtics forward Sam Hauser among several others in commending the 22-year-old who added, “Caitlin Clark is stealing the show of basketball, not only in the women’s game but also the men’s game.”

That’s a huge compliment from the elite talents in the NBA.
