“Nobody Carrying Me Off”: Tyrese Haliburton’s Toughness Under Fire as Pacers All-Star Teared-Up After Scary Injury

Tyrese Haliburton has had a tremendous season. After nearly leading the Pacers to In-Season Tournament glory, he registered two 20-point 20-assist games, beating several big teams along the way. McCants recognized the superb performance of Haliburton for his team and said that it was not good for him to have left the court. He said, “The way the way he’s terrorizing the league right now um Team going to miss him League going to miss him.”

The vivid imagery of a player of Haliburton’s caliber being carried off didn’t sit well with McCants, who emphasized his generation’s resilience, stating, “I’m not going to have that image out there, nobody carrying me off.”

The injury’s severity aside, McCants hinted at the mental toughness required to endure such setbacks in a league where the slightest sign of vulnerability can be exploited.
