Few draft prospects have garnered as much hype and attention as Victor Wembanyama did in last year’s draft. He was heralded as the most highly anticipated prospect since LeBron James in 2003. The league had never seen a player with the combination of Wemby’s size and skills. Victor was a true outlier when he entered the league, and so far Wembanyama hasn’t disappointed.
Despite the struggles of the San Antonio Spurs, Victor has delivered exceptional performances throughout his rookie season. Wembanyama has averaged 20.5 points, 10 rebounds, 3.2 assists and a league-high 3.2 blocks per game this season. Victor is a potential superstar of the future and he has got the game to back that up. His stellar performances in his rookie season haven’t gone unnoticed, as he signed a multi-year deal with the French luxury brand, Louis Vuitton.

After signing with the French luxury brand, Victor gave an interview to GQ Sports. During that interview, Wembanyama provided reasoning behind his decision to be associated with LV. He said, “I wanted a meaningful partnership. To me it made a lot of sense to partner with LV—you know, French excellence. The expertise is something that I feel very much attracted to.”
In his brief time as an NBA athlete, Wembanyama has always come across as a respectful individual. However, Wemby trashed LeBron James’ style after signing with Louis Vuitton.
Victor Wembanyama calls LeBron’s 2003 Draft outfit “Funny”
LeBron James garnered a lot of attention for his incredible basketball prowess, but it was his draft night fit that stole the show. James wore an all-white oversized suit during the 2003 NBA Draft. While LeBron’s iconic all-white suit remains one of the most memorable draft night outfits, Wembanyama isn’t particularly impressed with LeBron’s fashion sense.
During an interview with GQ Sports, Wembanyama called LeBron’s 2003 draft night outfit “funny.” He said, “I remember LeBron’s draft suit was so baggy. It was cool back then, but now it is just funny.” For his own draft night fit, Wembanyama enlisted the help of Louis Vuitton.

Wembanyama was dressed by the luxury French brand in a forest green suit, which he described as “just beautiful.” He said, “I think it was well worth it, because it’s definitely the best suit of this year’s draft, and also the past years, in my opinion.”
