Popular Victim of Trolls, Jordan Poole Breaks Silence on Wizards’ Misery

Jordan Poole has endured a pretty rough few months in Washington. Few could have predicted Poole’s current predicament after he became an integral part of the Warriors’ fourth championship in nine seasons. His performances during the 2021-22 season were so good that fans anointed him as the third “Splash Bro.” However, Poole’s career with the Dubs started to unravel once Draymond Green punched him during the 2022 offseason.
Since then, neither the Warriors nor Jordan Poole have been the same. Reports suggested that Poole never forgave Green for the punch, and this created a tense environment inside the Dubs’ locker room. Poole’s performances and form fell off a cliff in the 2022-23 season, which resulted in him getting traded to the Washington Wizards during the 2023 offseason.
Many felt that an increased role in the offense would catapult Jordan Poole into NBA stardom, akin to James Harden’s leap after being traded to the Rockets. However, things haven’t gone according to the script for both Poole and the Wizards. At Washington, Jordan Poole has become one of the most inefficient and wasteful players in the league. As a result, the Wizards and Poole have become a laughingstock within the basketball community.

Nevertheless, Jordan Poole has requested Wizards fans to be patient and allow the team to grow. In a recent interview with Andscape, Poole said, “If that was the case we would have did that sh*t, everybody would have did that already, bro,” he said. “You think we wouldn’t be out here winning nine games?”

The Washington Wizards currently languish at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings, with just 11 wins from 66 games. The Wizards have been so abysmal this season that they have secured just two wins in their past 20 games. But could the future bring better days for the Wizards’ faithful?
Can Jordan Poole and the Wizards bounce back after this season?
The Wizards have put together one of the worst seasons in NBA history. They are on course to win just 14 games this entire season. The Philadelphia 76ers hold the worst record in an 82-game season when they could only manage to win 9 games during the 1972-73 season. So, the current Wizards team is not that far off from being considered the worst in NBA history.

However, this was to be expected, as they entered a rebuilding phase after trading away key players like Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis, and Tyus Jones in the offseason. Washington does have some good young players with high upside like Bilal Coulibaly, Deni Avdija, and Marvin Bagley III. But their fans may have to endure several dismal seasons before the team becomes competitive enough to contend for at least a playoff spot.
