Ryan Coogler produced the documentary alongside Peter Nicks, Sean Harvey and others. The Black Panther film fame director Coogler recently opened up about the film’s influence while promoting it.

Featuring in an interview alongside Stephen Curry, Coogler explained what resonated the most with him from the film. The producer straight up drew a parallel with his personal life. He said, “This film has a profound effect on me as a parent watching this.”

He considers Steph’s relationship with his mother as the heart of the film. Coogler explained how Curry’s mom pushed him to complete his college, years after discontinuing it for the NBA. Moreover, he pointed out how the Dubs superstar stood by his word. The producer added, “But why is he [Steph] doing that? It’s because he said — he told his mom that he would.”
