Music has highly influenced the NBA world. Even the Hall of Famer, Shaquille O’Neal, or as fans know him, “DJ Diesel” has produced many hit albums and can be seen mixing it up at big events as a Celebrity DJ. The Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard also released his fifth studio album “Don D.O.L.L.A” amidst his trade drama.

Apart from veteran NBA superstars like Dame D.O.L.L.A and Big Diesel, more players are catching up to the music bug. The 25-year-old guard Lonzo Ball released his latest album “BBA” in 2020. Now, Russell Westbrook’s $2,306,400 rich teammate has joined ZO and Dame as one of the few players who have their music album.

The 22-year-old Los Angeles Clippers guard Nah’Shon Hyland (Bones Hyland) released his latest single “Skarred” this week. “Bizzy” Bones released his first album in 2020, followed by 2 others in the coming years. Contrary to his previous albums, “Skarred” comes as a single release song from the young NBA star. Russell Westbrook’s teammate has joined an elite company by becoming one of the few NBA players to have a successful music career. Apart from Bones, NBA stars like Shaq, Kobe, Dame, and Javale McGee made their way into the music industry with several hit albums.

Playing for the 2023 NBA Champions Denver Nuggets since the beginning of his career, Hyland signed a 4-year $10.7 million contract with the Nuggets. But Bones got traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in the middle of last season. He played only 14 games for the Clippers, but showed great potential, averaging 10.8 points and 3.4 assists in the brief period.

Still under contract, Bones is set to make $2,306,400 with the Clippers next season. If Kawhi Leonard and Paul George return healthy for next season, Bones could prove to be a great asset for the Clippers in their run for the NBA championship. Russell Westbrook also showed great promise last season with his elite performance in the playoffs. Fully healthy, the Clippers would become one of the top contenders for the NBA title.
