The Golden State Warriors started their season with an abysmal 0-8 record last season. They broke that streak of unsuccessful assignments after beating their former arch-rivals, the Houston Rockets. In 2018, the Rockets, armed with Chris Paul and James Harden, were one of the top contenders in the West to go against the budding Warriors dynasty. However, times have changed. The Warriors no longer have Kevin Durant, and surprisingly, CP3 has found himself playing alongside his former rivals.

While the Dubs had a disappointing start to the season, they have already bounced back with a win, thanks in part to Stephen Curry‘s 41-point performance. The Warriors will look forward to maintaining the upward momentum when they meet the Rockets in Clutch City.

Stephen Curry has been loyal to the Warriors since the start of his career. He led the Golden State to four championships under the tutelage of Steve Kerr. In his long and illustrious 15-year-long career, he has met the Rockets 39 times. He has performed exceptionally well in those matchups, averaging 24.5 points, 7.0 assists and 4.6 rebounds. The two teams are slated to face off once again tonight. The Warriors have emerged victorious in their last 10 matchups with an average margin of 13.9 points per game.

The Rockets had a rocky start to the season, losing their two on-the-road games against the San Antonio Spurs and the Orlando Magic. On the other hand, the Warriors are 1-1. They split their first two games, losing to the Suns at home, 108-104, before bouncing back with a 122-114 victory over the Sacramento Kings. Tonight’s game will be an uphill task for the rebuilding Rockets. Even more so since their defensive anchor Draymond Green is expected to make his season debut with the Warriors. However, the Warriors might be without their two stars in the upcoming contest.
