Stephen Curry has been a winner all his career. The 4-time champ has played a pivotal role in one of NBA’s most successful dynasties, the Golden State Warriors. However, on the golf course, the former 2 time MVP did not fare so well. After a humiliating loss in “The Match”, Curry seems to be putting in the work.

Kansas City Chiefs duo Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce destroyed the “Splash Brothers” Klay Thompson and Curry to claim victory in “The Match”. Mahomes and Kelce dominated the game taking home a 3&2 victory. After the humiliation, Stephen Curry took to Threads to claim he is “locked in” in response to a call 0ut from Doug Smith.

Stephen Curry is a wizard on the basketball court. His unlimited range beyond the arc makes him a remarkable NBA athlete. Curry, however, has also been making great strides as a golfer. Named the Golf Ambassador of 2023, the 34-year-old has carried his success and unlimited range to the golf course too.

Coming into The Match, Curry was seen as the best golfer among the bunch. With an impressive +1.3 handicap score, Curry seemed like the favourite. However, by the time the 9th hole ended, Curry and his teammate Klay Thompson were left hoping for a miracle.

The Kansas City Chiefs duo were in the driver’s seat early on, despite being seen as underdogs. They complimented each other exceptionally with some impressive shots from Kelce. Patrick Mahomes, despite an underwhelming outing, made the difference to take his team to glory. Mahomes and Kelce enjoyed a comfortable victory but left Stephen Curry to contemplate about his game. Curry, who looked shaky throughout the game, had some comments regarding where he needs to improve.

Curry is putting in the work

“The Match” left the Warriors point guard with some haunting memories. Doug Smith took a sly dig at Curry on a post on Threads saying, “I know you been ironing out them wrinkles from The Match.” Replying to Smith, Curry stated that he is “locked in” after the disappointing loss.

Curry also stated what aspects he has been working on in his game. “Little more hip turn. Shortening the swing for some distance control,” said Curry.

Moreover, he claimed that The Match was a learning experience and that he “Learned a lot” from it.
