Tyrese Maxey is having a breakout year with the Philadelphia 76ers this season. The 23-year-old point guard got his opportunity to shine after James Harden decided to not play for the Sixers anymore. Maxey has helped the Sixers overcome his departure with incredible performances. These performances have even put him into All-Star conversations early in the season. Tyrese is averaging a whopping 26.8 points and 7.1 assists this season.

However, Maxey explained to Shaquille O’Neal and the TNT crew why he was thankful to Harden and revealed his overall impact.

Tyrese Maxey talked to the TNT crew ahead of his in-season tournament game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He talked about his new role as the Sixers’ starting point guard and how James Harden has impacted his breakout performance this season, saying Harden made him a better basketball player. Even though Harden and Philly’s relations ended on bad terms, it looks like there is no animosity between the players. Harden is a former MVP and one of the best point guards in the league, and it is great to hear that Tyrese Maxey picked up some of his teachings and skills to implement in his game.
