It has been nearly 8 years since LeBron James brought a Championship to Cleveland. Although LeBron accomplished his goal of winning his first title in Miami and dominated the league alongside Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, he had some unfinished business in Cleveland. LeBron returned to his hometown in 2014 and led the Cavaliers to their first title in 2016.

Not only did the Cavs’ first Championship elevate LeBron’s legacy, but it also gave a multi-million-dollar opportunity to 8-time Grammy-winning artist Usher. The singer serenaded King James for making his first entrepreneurial venture successful.

Usher reminisces LeBron James’ time in Cleveland

Usher was a guest on the latest episode of Club Shay Shay Podcast hosted by NFL legend Shannon Sharpe. During the episode, Usher revealed what it was like being a minority owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers franchise during the LeBron James era. The singer bought a minority stake in the franchise in 2005 for $9 million when Dan Gilbert bought the team for $385 million. Usher claimed he felt like the “luckiest man in the world” being a part of LeBron’s team. However, Usher also went through a tough time when LeBron took his talents to South Beach in 2010.

14 years after “The Decision”, Usher reminisced about the move in a positive light. “Sometimes in the wilderness, you find something valuable, and you come back, and you can really enjoy it.” he added. According to Usher, it was important for LeBron to leave the Cavs in 2010 to reach his true potential. LeBron’s departure also made the Cavs fans realize how valuable he was to the organization. Usher claimed LeBron’s move to Miami was “hard for everybody.”

But, he was thankful to LeBron and the Cavs franchise as their ownership in 2005 was his first major entrepreneurial move.

LeBron James’ historic return to Cleveland

When LeBron James returned to Cleveland after winning two rings in Miami, the Cavs fans forgave him for his past decisions. LeBron joined forces with Kyrie Irving and dominated the league during his second Cavs stint. He led the Cavs to 4 consecutive NBA Finals and helped them win one of the most historic Championships in 2016. Not only did King James bring a Championship to Cleveland, he did it against all odds.

LeBron James and Co. defeated the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 Finals. The Warriors were arguably the Greatest team assembled in NBA history and had a 73-9 record in the regular season, the best record in league history. After going down 1-3 in the Finals, King James pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in Finals history and won the series in 7 games.

It is arguably the Greatest Championship win of LeBron’s career.
