Myers used to consult Curry before any decision he took, and he did the same regarding Durant. He asked Curry, “Hey, what if Durant wanted to come? If Durant wants to meet with us, if he would be willing to, or if he?s taking meetings, what do you think on that?” Hearing all this, Curry’s response was: “You think he?d want to come here?“ Myers said he did not know, but if he took the meeting, then what? Curry then looked at him in his eye and responded saying, “Yeah, for sure!”?

Curry’s participation in talks, according to Myers, seemed a matter of being informed rather than influencing executive choices. He is seen as a valued GSW resource. Hence, he got the opportunity to participate in important decisions because of his critical role on the team.
