The countdown to the  Stephen Curry vs Sabrina Ionescu is underway, and the entire NBA world is taking guesses at this year’s 3-point winner. This year, it is going to be a historic event; the biggest battle of the shooters, since Houston Astrodome saw Bobby Rigs and Billie Jean King battle it out half a century ago.

With everyone taking sides, Curry’s teammate Draymond Green gave his verdict. In a recent clip posted on X, Green clearly states “Of course, Steph is winning,” clearing all confusion as to who he has his bets on.

However, he didn’t knock Ionescu, saying “Sabrina is doing what she is doing, we also saw the three-point contest last year where she broke all the records.” In the end, though, Dray couldn’t deny that he “got Steph, the greatest ever for a reason.”

What are the odds on Stephen Curry vs Sabrina Ionescu?

The format of the contest will closely resemble previous 3-point shooting competitions. There will be five racks positioned around the perimeter, each containing five basketballs. Four racks will consist of four regular basketballs worth one point each and one moneyball worth two points. The fifth rack will exclusively feature moneyballs and can be placed at the shooter’s discretion. Additionally, each player will have two “Starry Range” shots positioned approximately 29 feet from the hoop, each worth three points.

The key distinction is that Curry will shoot from the NBA 3-point line using NBA basketballs, while Ionescu will shoot from the WNBA 3-point line using WNBA basketballs. However, contrary to NBA rules, Ionescu expressed a different approach on social media.

Ionescu demonstrated significant improvement in her 3-point shooting, elevating her percentage from 33.1% at the start of the 2023 season to an impressive 44.8% during the regular season, ranking third in the WNBA. In the playoffs, she maintained a solid 40% conversion rate from beyond the arc. Leading the WNBA in total 3-pointers made (128) and 3-pointers per game (3.6), Ionescu’s remarkable performance in July’s WNBA 3-Point Contest set an all-time WNBA and NBA record with a stunning 37-point final round.
