The streaming community has been in shambles recently. Twitch streamer Faze Nickmercs tweeted on the ongoing issue between the pro and anti-LGBTQ+ community and since then he is the talk of the town. Amidst the drama surrounding the 32-year-old and his views, an NBA giant has made an attempt to befriend the Nickmercs.

The popular streamer has lost endorsements and brand deals and the situation continues to get worse for him. Additionally, there are online protests being staged to cancel him, although he is also receiving a lot of support from within the community. Among all this, Nickmercs received a follow request from a 7-foot giant from the NBA.

It all started with a tweet detailing the brawl between anti-LGBTQ+ and pro-LGBTQ+ groups. A clip of their fight was posted on Twitter and broadcaster Chris Puckett added his take to it. Puckett said that what is happening in America is extremely saddening right now. He added that people should let each other be what they want to be.

Puckett suggested people focus on living their own life rather than trying to restrict others. This prompted a response from Nickmercs as he tweeted “They should leave little children alone. That’s the real issue.” This tweet did not sit well with the pro-LGBTQ+ people and then came the backlash.

While Nickmercs maintained silence over the issue, things continued to spiral down for him. One of his major associations with Activision fell off as a repercussion of his tweet. Nickmercs skin was a part of Modern Warfare II and Warzone stores, which was extremely popular among fans as well as other streamers.

Activision decided to pull back its partnership with Nickmercs and also issued a statement over the recent controversy. Activision stated, “Due to recent events, we have removed the “NICKMERCS Operator [bundle].”
