NBA legend Charles Barkley once claimed legends Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods are the cheapest people he has ever been with. And he even admitted that is the reason they are rich. Jordan and Woods are two of the very few billionaire athletes in the world. MJ, Barkley, and Woods once had a close relationship and spent a lot of time together.

Jordan currently sits at the fortune of a whopping $1.7 billion, which came from brand deals, businesses, and investments. On the other hand, Woods currently has a net worth of $1.1 billion thanks to his businesses and endorsements.

Back in 2014, Barkley appeared on the talk show Late Night with Conan O’Brien. During the show, Barkley stated that the more successful you are, the better you should tip. And wherever Barkley encounters a homeless person, he often gives them money.

The host asked Charles Barkley, known for his straightforward opinions, “Who are the cheapest guys you went out with?.”

Barkley took no time and said, “There’s nobody cheaper than Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan.” And he went on to narrate a story about Jordan that supported his statement. He added Jordan would slap his hand to stop him from offering money to homeless people.

Barkley then added Tiger Woods was cheap as well. Conan was stunned knowing that two of the richest athletes in the world are cheap.

The Philadelphia 76ers legend added, “That’s why they are rich.”

The trio shared a close friendship and hung out a lot. But sadly, that is not the case anymore. Things went south between the three superstars after the controversy surrounding Tiger Woods came to light.
