Every year NBA fans anticipate who is going to be the next number-one pick in the NBA draft. However, for this year’s pick, there is possibly no doubt that it is going to be Victor Wembanyama, the seven-foot sensation out of France. The hype around Wembanyama is absolutely unreal. With many calling him an ‘alien’ or a ‘unicorn.’ Now, Lakers legend Magic Johnson recently calling the French international the greatest player in the world may have rubbed some NBA fans the wrong way.

The last time a player who was so hyped prior to making it into the league may have been LeBron James way back in 2003. However, nobody went as far as to call him the greatest player in the world before even playing a single game in the league.
