7 ft Shaquille O’Neal Claims He Would Smack Will Smith if He Was in Chris Rock’s Place

The Slapgate incident has taken the world by storm. When Will Smith walked up to the stage and slapped Chris Rock and shouted profanities at him afterward, it left the world speechless. While Smith received a lot of criticism, Rock earned a lot of plaudits. Even NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal praised him for behaving in a professional manner while saying that he might not have done the same.

Shaq was talking about the slap gate incident on his podcast, ‘The Big Podcast.’ He applauded Chris Rock for being the bigger person and not getting back at the actor.

Shaq said, “There’s two sides of what Chris should have done. He was the bigger man, very corporate, didn’t do nothing, back came with a joke right away… Kudos to him for having the Martin Luther King mentality, take it on the cheek and continue to be peaceful.”

Shaq also said that if he was in Rock’s place, things would have gone down very differently. He said, “Now, what I would have did, I would have told the people ‘lock the door’. There’s nobody leaving until I get a hold of him. If Denzel and Tyler Perry get in the way, they gonna get these hands.”

If Rock had the same thinking as Shaq, things could have gone way more wrong. Rock handled it professionally, and he took the high road. Smith has apologized for the incident and the Academy has condemned the actions of Smith.
