When Michael Jordan kick-started his baseball career
Back in 1993, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls got hold of their first three-peat in the league. It was a moment of utter brilliance and talent from the global star-duo, Jordan and Pippen. However, the celebration went numb when MJ surprisingly announced his retirement from the game of basketball.
The recent murder of his father and his lost desire to play the sport were reasons listed out by the superstar when exiting the league. Jordan’s next plan of action was baseball. He signed a contract with the Chicago White Sox and gave a shot at the Minor League Baseball.

‘He Was Controlling the Cameras’: Scottie Pippen Uncovers Michael Jordan Antics in NBA Finals
Scottie Pippen has some words to say about MJ’s decision
Talking about Michael’s first NBA retirement, Scottie Pippen made a brackish comment in a conversation on the Dan Patrick Show. He said, “It was a selfish decision, but it was kind of who Michael Jordan was. That was a guy who believed that he can do anything on his own.”
With Jordan out, that year had turned out to be Scottie Pippen’s time to shine. All of a sudden, he was the leading icon of the league. And Pippen grabbed that opportunity by claiming the All-star MVP in 1994. Additionally, he also led the Bulls in scoring, assists, and blocks.
The mighty force had been unleashed; however, a championship wasn’t the end deal. Even though the Bulls had a notable 1993-94 season, they were shrugged out by the NY Knicks in the second round of playoffs.
A lot of bitterness is being suspected in Pippen’s words with his book coming up in no time. Many believe this to be a counter to the famous ‘Last Dance’ documentary that celebrated MJ as the greatest of all time. Having said that, is Pippen making a long-withheld statement here?
