The New York Knicks has a track record of drafting and or signing players that just don’t work out. The Knicks’ fans know about their front office’s mishaps as well. And the fans rarely agree with the decisions made by the front office.

Now there’s a rumor going around that the Knicks are interested in one of Ja Morant’s teammates. The Knicks fans like this idea and are showing their support on social media. The player in question is Tyus Jones from the Memphis Grizzlies.

If the rumors are true, then it looks like the front office has the blessings of their fan base.

Even though he is not a high-profile signing, he is a solid PG. For the Grizzlies, he is coming off the bench owing to sharing his position with Ja Morant. And whenever Ja was not available, he provided excellent cover for him.

Julius has led the NBA for four consecutive seasons in the assist-to-turnover ratio. If signed, in Julius the Knicks will have a player who can find an open man without turning the ball over so much. He has also improved his shot from behind the arc.

Tyus Jones in the NBA

Interestingly, the Memphis Grizzlies have won 20 of 25 games Ja missed out in the regular season. Jones has played 73 games this season and started 23. He averaged 8.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.

The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Jones as the 24th pick in the 2015 NBA draft. But the Cavaliers traded his draft rights to the Minnesota Timberwolves, in exchange for a 2019 second-round draft pick and the draft rights to Cedi Osman and Rakeem Christmas.
