After She “Stepped Out of Line” and Got Compared to LeBron James’ Wife, Stephen Curry’s Wife Ayesha Destroyed NBA Analyst in 2016

Stephen Curry is one of the most elite athletes in the NBA right now. After winning his fourth championship last year, the 2022 Finals MVP and his family are getting more attention than ever. Back in 2016, Steph’s wife Ayesha Curry caught herself in a difficult situation when she shared an tweet that triggered a lot of controversy in the NBA world. She called out the NBA after Game 6 of the NBA Finals series between The Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers for supposedly tampering with the encounter.

Following her tweet, which she deleted minutes later, Ayesha was criticized by an NBA analyst regarding her conduct. However, Ayesha Curry did not hold back and destroyed her critic for comparing her to LeBron James’ wife, Savannah.

Curry wrote in the deleted tweet that she lost all respect for the NBA after the Warriors lost. The game seemed rigged for money or ratings to her. Ayesha claimed that she wouldn’t be silent about it. The Cavs won the game by 115-101 and tied the series by 3-3 before winning Game 7 and becoming the 2016 NBA champions. Ayesha was really frustrated by the outcome of Game 6 and felt something wrong was going on in the background.

Mrs. Curry was soon targeted by NBA analyst, Stephen A. Smith. The ESPN Insider claimed that Ayesha had “stepped out of line” and “stepped out of pocket.” While Ayesha apologized for her emotional tweet later, Smith compared her to LeBron James’ wife Savannah. He reckoned that Ayesha’s comments directly reflected on Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

Smith said, “If that was Savannah, LeBron’s wife, if that were Gloria, LeBron’s mother, what would we be saying?” The ESPN Insider continued to praise Savannah’s looks by calling her beautiful inside and out. He added that Savannah did not bring any attention to herself by calling out people in her tweets, unlike Ayesha.

Curry responds to the comparison

Meanwhile, Ayesha Curry did not take the comments from the NBA analyst lightly. She responded to the comparisons and comments made by Smith in a tweet. Curry wrote“Why are you putting two women against each other like that? You’re the one that’s out of pocket.” She gave a strong response to Smith who has come under fire for such comments in the past as well.

In 2015, ESPN suspended Smith for his on-air comments regarding the Ray Rice case, claiming that women supposedly bore some responsibility for provoking domestic violence. Moreover. Smith had to apologize in 2015 after his allegedly sexist comments involving the German women’s soccer team during the World Cup.
