When it comes to trouble, the Brooklyn Nets are on top of the list. Their franchise is crumbling away with internal sparks. Kevin Durant is waiting for his chance to get out. However, even the outside news isn’t supporting them. Notably, Ben Simmons couldn’t stay out of the drama. But the former Sixers star laughed in the face of the news. And the fans made sure to grill him.

The Nets’ story went from one of the best teams to a franchise in jeopardy. A humiliating defeat to the Celtics gave way for a breakdown. They were the only team to get swept in the playoffs. However, there was a high chance the Nets could have been a stronger opposition to the finalists. After all the hype, Simmons left Kevin Durant and Kyrie hanging. But the recent news broke the internet.

Fans go after Ben Simmons for ghosting Kevin Durant

With Brooklyn on the verge of a sweep, they needed all the firepower they could get. Both Kevin Durant and Kyrie were struggling. This is when a light shined on them as Simmons was expected to return. However, it was only brief as the All-Defensive guard left the Nets’ group chat. As old news came up, Simmons laughed at the media. But the fans didn’t let him slide.

They roasted Simmons for calling out the media. Likewise, his single backing out could have set up a downfall in his own future in Brooklyn.

An addition of Simmons in the finals could have helped slow down Boston. He could take on Jayson Tatum who averaged 29.5 points. Moreover, his playmaking could also be a critical addition. Durant was smothered by the Celtics’ forces as he turned the ball over 5 times every game. With Simmons, Brooklyn could be in control. His buckets would just be a bonus for the Nets. But backing out set off a chain of consequences.
