Brittney and Cherelle Griner met even before the former made it to the WNBA in 2013. The duo attended Baylor University from 2009-2013. However, Griner made a bold admission about her hidden feelings for Cherelle that she had even before marrying her former wife Glory Johnson in 2015.
Brittney Griner fell for Cherelle at first sight
Brittney Griner has known Cherelle Watson since her days as a student at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Back in June 2020, the WNBA star confessed to falling for Cherelle Watson after seeing her for the first time. According to People, Brittney Griner wrote on Instagram, “I will never forget the day I met you at Baylor in the sub-area! You tapped me on my shoulder and told me I took your milkshake (still up for debate lol) and I was immediately blown away at your beauty!”

Griner’s marriage with Glory Johnson
After debuting in the NBA in 2013, Griner fell for Glory Johnson and got engaged to her in 2014. However, the former couple had some problems in their relationship. In April 2015, the cops visited their residence in Arizona after a domestic violence call. Griner and Johnson reportedly suffered minor injuries after a physical altercation with each other.

Surprisingly, the former duo reconciled shortly after the incident and got married a couple of weeks later in May. However, the troubles in their relationship continued that eventually leading to their divorce in 2016.
