However, his teammates showed him support. Irving talked about the Australian’s lack of game time in the last couple of years and suggested he might need some time to pick up where he left off. Interestingly, in a recent podcast, Howard revealed the Brooklyn Nets didn’t want to sign him. The reason they gave the player was they wanted a player who could shoot. Howard had approached the Nets as a free agent. But his request got shot down. Howard didn’t understand their motives.

Ben Simmons returned on Monday night to the Nets’ lineup. He had missed 4 games before that owing to problems with his left knee. Before playing the Dallas Mavericks, he said his knee was a hindrance. He added his injuries had impacted the quality of his play.
