“Buy It, Just to Break It”: LeBron James Endorses $103 Billion Company in Latest Ad, Igniting a Wildfire on Instagram

The Los Angeles Lakers are in quite a predicament after LeBron James went down with an injury. James hit the deck hard during the game against the Dallas Mavericks and has been sidelined for a few weeks. However, during his time off the court, the 4x champion continues to endorse brands online. James partnered up with a $103 billion company once again as he recuperated from his injury, leading to mixed reactions from fans around the league.

LeBron James and Sony joined hands to present a custom PS5 controller inspired by ‘The King.’ The controller is all black with colorful graffiti and art on both sides, commemorating James’ ‘King’ logo along with a few quotes.

The Lakers star went to his Instagram to showcase the new controller launched by Sony. He captioned the video, “Had fun with this one @playstation!! These words inspire me and my I Promise students and I hope do the same for gamers all over.”

“Still crazy to think a kid from Akron who grew up playing games is getting to create something like this!” added James. The controller features an ‘Everything Is Earned’ quote right in the middle, with ‘I Promise’ written on the right side.

Fans were hyped to see the ‘King James’ themed controller, and many reacted to it as well. However, there were quite a few mixed reactions to it. One fan commented, “Nobody buying that bs. I might buy it JUST to break it.”

While another fan commented, “Long as we know the goat on a play station I never wanna hear about an Xbox again.”

While many fans were excited to see a new LeBron James-themed PS5 controller, some pointed out how James spends more time on his Xbox.

James’ previous partnership with PlayStation

This was not the first time the 19x All-Star teamed up with Sony. James and Sony PlayStation came out with an advertisement to promote the PlayStation-exclusive game, ‘God Of War’ a few months ago.

The 38-year-old star appeared in the short ad with his eldest son, Bronny James. The father-son-duo also indulged with Hollywood actors Ben Stiller and John Travolta as they sat down with their kids for another ‘God Of War’ commercial.
