Championship culture in today’s NBA is linked with stardom. The concept of Super Teams is no more a shock. The best have joined forces and won the Larry O’Brien trophy. These experiments have led to some of the fiercest rosters in NBA history. In a world where loyalty is rare, Damian Lillard has upheld his beliefs. Wanting to do it in Portland, the perennial All-Star has stayed with the franchise for his entire career. In a recent interview, the 32-year-old made a bold claim about winning a championship in his city.
Lillard is arguably the most notable star in Portland. An ‘NBA Top 75’ member, the Portland Trail Blazers superstar has made a significant impact on the league. In the three-point revolution, he has made some of the longest shots ever seen. Moreover, he is the only man with multiple series-winning baskets. The only accomplishment evading his glorious career has been an NBA championship.
The one validation that has kept NBA fans from respecting him. And in a recent interview, the Western Conference All-Star made a brave claim about him not getting the credit he deserves, and he feels a championship will make that happen.

Lillard’s legacy in the NBA is attached to his transcending play style. Dame Dolla is one of the most clutch superstars of all time. His game-winner against OKC still gives goosebumps to NBA fans. Moreover, he is a great ambassador for the game. The 32-year-old is still in the middle of his prime and is the single reason people believe in Portland every season.
As far as his impact goes, Lillard might not need a championship to prove anything. The 2023 three-point contest winner has established himself as one of the greats. Even if his loyalty isn’t rewarded, he will always be a loyal son of Portland.
