After making their way into the playoffs, the Minnesota Timberwolves locked horns with the top-seeded Denver Nuggets. Despite the Wolves’ fighting spirit, the Nuggets dominated the game with a strong defensive performance. Moreover, Wolves’ Kyle Anderson turned up the heat in the game when he triggered a fight amid the Nuggets’ authority on the court. Notably, Anderson attracted fans over a similar issue a few days ago when he took a sucker punch from his teammate, Rudy Gobert

Timberwolves suffered a frustrating defeat as the Nuggets maintained a double-digit point lead throughout the game. Moreover, Minnesota only managed to score 80 points in the game. Despite a one-sided contest, the fans came alive when the fight broke out in the third quarter. The fight reminded the fans of Gobert’s sucker punch on Anderson’s chest during their last regular season game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

With less than 40 seconds left in the third quarter, Anderson engaged in a tussle with the Nuggets’ guard Christian Braun. Anderson tried to elbow Braun while attempting a mid-range shot. Even though the referee called for an offensive foul looking at Anderson’s elbow movements, the Wolves player continued to instigate Braun and ended up triggering a fight. Eventually, the teammates swarmed onto the court to separate the players.

The referees slapped Anderson with a flagrant foul for his elbow movement. Incidentally, after the Rudy Gobert sucker punch incident, former Wolves star Kevin Garnett made a bold claim.
