The Nets suffered a slide in their form by losing consecutive games to the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, the three best players on the team would know that the season is far from over and they have plenty of time to dominate.
There are lots of expectations residing on Harden, Durant, and Irving, and it is not unusual to place such hope in their very first season as teammates. When former Nets shooting coach David Nurse appeared on ‘The Alex Kennedy Podcast’ he placed a few questions about them and delivered an optimistic answer as well!

“Yeah, so, on the surface, it looked as three superstars, like not just three stars but three superstars,” Nurse began.
“How are there going to be enough shots for each person, how are the egos gonna be fed, how would the dynamic work between them? But, at the core, at the base, this foundation for this year the roots have been growing since that 2016 season,” he mentioned.
Now Nurse states that the Nets have been running through a solid foundation since 2016, but barring Harden, neither KD nor Irving was on the team until 2019. Who is David Nurse giving all the praise for making Brooklyn a solid franchise?
Nurse credits Sean Marks for establishing a wonderful culture in the franchise
Every franchise has its own set of goals. Some teams follow a distinct work culture that brings them together. It is all about how it is set up, and David Nurse credits Nets’ GM Sean Marks for establishing one.
“I came on at an interesting time in the Brooklyn Nets. Time when we went from New Jersey to Brooklyn we went from this old practice facility to the brand new, beautiful practice facility. When Sean [Marks] came in, he set the standard, like he was it was all about culture, coming from the Spurs,” Nurse said about Marks.

Sean Marks arrived in Brooklyn in 2016 and made some drastic changes at the organization. While it took some time to reflect, look how they’ve improved now. The team didn’t make the playoffs in his first three years, but now they’re primed to win the championship!
“I think they just have such a good framework of people, and culture, that even if there’s a spat or somebody doesn’t feel like they’re getting the ball in the ‘Big Three’ or something, it’s going to figure itself out because it just, I mean the culture is there and when culture’s there that comes before the players for a reason,” Nurse added about the Nets organization.

This gives us a whole new perspective about the Brooklyn Nets. Fans were worried that there would be a blow-up between the big three, but the franchise is greater than the players, so they’d have to stick together as a unit!
