Phoenix Suns will play Milwaukee Bucks on game 1 of the NBA finals on Tuesday. Phoenix impressed in the regular season as they ended as the #2 seed in the West. Moreover, the Suns finally ended their 10-year playoff drought and made it to the NBA finals. Chris Paul’s leadership is one of the biggest reasons for their success. However, the young core of Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton has also been outstanding through these playoffs.

Devin Booker made it to his first playoffs this season, and he did not crumble under pressure. After a stellar regular season, Booker has outperformed himself in his first playoffs.

Booker recently spoke about their journey in the playoffs and said that their first-round against the Los Angeles Lakers was the most important for them.

Devin Booker says series with the Lakers helped them grow

After reaching his first NBA finals, Devin Booker spoke about how the Lakers series helped them prepare for the way forward. Devin said, “We experienced the Lakers series. I’m glad we went through that, I’m glad we had those two losses because you learn so much in that time… Having going through that experience, you know, shaped us for the next series.”

Devin Booker averaged 29.7 points against the Lakers in his first-ever playoff series. Moreover, he scored a playoff-high 47 points in the clincher as they beat Lakers 4-2 in the series. After that, the Suns swept the Denver Nuggets and beat the Los Angeles Clippers to qualify for their first NBA finals since 1993.
