Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has dominated the league for the past decade. But now father time seems to be catching up to him. James, who is 37 right now, will be turning 38 by the end of this month. And even though players usually retire around this age in the league, the latest update on the four-time champion’s desire to play a couple of more years has left NBA fans in a state of frenzy. 

LeBron James has missed some time off the court with nagging injuries this season. James has arguably been one of the more durable players in the league. He rarely missed time off the court due to injuries.

LeBron James wants to play till he turns 45

But by the looks of it, as much as fans would like to see James continue to play, his body might not agree with him. In fact, even James himself has said that he wants to play for a couple of more years into his mid-40s. 

According to his teammate Dennis Schroder, James said he wanted to play about 5-7 more years in the NBA and retire at 45. NBA fans could not believe James’ desire to play more, given how he is playing now.

Currently, LeBron James is averaging 26.2 PPG, 8.6 RPG, and 6.3 APG so far this season with a true shooting percentage of 54.9%. When you look at it strictly from a numbers standpoint, James is arguably still producing at a high level.

Furthermore, James has likely been facing such criticism due to the current record for the Los Angeles Lakers, who currently sit 12th on the Western Conference table with an 11-15 record so far.
