The Los Angeles Lakers are part of NBA royalty. The franchise has 17 NBA titles to its name along with the Boston Celtics. Moreover, with the release of the latest documentary, ‘Winning Time’, the fans got to have a better look at the Lakers. This has led to interesting takes like the one comparing Jerry West and Michael Jordan.

 Taking to Twitter, one user compared the two legends and called West better than Jordan. This has not been taken well by fans who gave their thoughts regarding the same.

Although the fans seem to not agree with the notion, many agree West deserves more recognition. Furthermore, some fans have argued that West has had a better career than the likes of Kobe Bryant and Wilt Chamberlain.

Ever wondered who the player in the NBA logo is? It is actually Jerry West of the Los Angeles Lakers. He represented the Lake Show in the 1960s and led them to an NBA title in 1972.

Although he has just the one NBA title to his name, numerous fans and analysts around the world put him in their top 5. The reason being? He is considered one of the greatest shooters ever.

He played in an era that did not have the three-point arc and still averaged an impressive 27.0 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.8 rebounds. 

Furthermore, he was an exceptional defender. He made the All-Defensive team 5 times ever since its inception during the 1968-69 season.

On the other hand, Michael Jordan is widely considered the greatest player ever. And the stats and accolades speak for themselves.

Jordan has 6 NBA titles to his name alongside a Rookie of the Year award, an Olympic Gold Medal, 5 MVP awards, and 6 final MVP awards.

Moreover, he holds the record for having the highest points per game average to date. He averages an insane 30.1 points alongside 5.3 assists and 6.2 rebounds.

While it is unfair to compare two players belonging to two completely different generations, their legacies cannot be undermined.
