Republican Kevin McCarthy is facing the stick from the media and the public for his recent actions. He supplied a controversial news anchor with the January 6 surveillance tapes of the Capitol Hill Building. In case you are wondering, the tapes are from the day supporters of the Republican Party and former POTUS Donald Trump attacked Capitol Hill. Five-time NBA champion Kareem Abdul-Jabbar left no stone unturned to shame McCarthy for his actions.
Addressing his large audience on his blog, Kareem accused the politician of putting the country at risk. Moreover, he had some words for Tucker Carlson, the controversial Fox News reporter with the tapes.

January 6, 2021, saw a horrific attack on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Two years after this incident, tapes containing 40,000 hours of surveillance footage have been released. The Republican House Speaker, Kevin McCarthy, has been accused of supplying the tapes to Tucker Carlson.
Carlson is notorious for his far-right views and controversial opinions. Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar recently chimed into this issue in the latest writeup on Kareem Substack.

Kareem wrote, “But now he’s putting the country in jeopardy by releasing tapes without vetting them for security risks to the Capitol complex, which has already been invaded once.”
The former NBA champion further added, “If he really believed these tapes “belong to the American public,” then he would have released them to all the major news outlets at the same time, thereby insuring most of the public would see them. Instead, he sold them to Fox, not for money, but for the money equivalent of positive reporting regarding him and his cronies.”
Moreover, Abdul-Jabbar also had some words for Carlson. The five-time NBA champion is one of Carlson’s biggest critics. He had bashed the Fox News journalist a few months ago after the Damar Hamlin incident.

Tucker Carlson is one of the most famous media personalities in the world. His show, ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ has remarkable viewer ratings both in the United States of America and across the world.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar once accused Carlson of crossing the limits simply to gain profits. In a May 2022 update of Kareem Substack, the NBA veteran wrote, “They have proven over the years that profit is their god and they will make no apologies or take any responsibilities for the deadly consequences.”

Additionally, he also bashed Carlson for his handling of the Covid-19 situation. The Fox News journalist was one of the biggest opposers to the vaccine and held regular shows debating its consequences.
