Kobe Bryant modeled his game off a lot of players. One of them was another legend of the game, Michael Jordan. Kobe considered Jordan to be his big brother, and both of them had a close relationship over the years. In fact, Jordan gave a heartfelt speech at the tribute to Kobe Bryant.
Kobe once told the story about how he gained Jordan’s respect. He says “ When I was in high school, um, and I used to work out with 76ers. I used to ask them what it’s like to guard Mike”. They replied saying ” Mike? You mean Black Jesus”. Kobe was stunned at the level of fear that Mike had inspired in others.

He further added, “I’m gonna call him f*cking Mike. Thats his f*cking name.. When I face him, we’re gonna go at it… I’m like what? Man, you don’t know me, man,”.

Kobe and Jordan were both 6’6 shooting guards whose main purpose was to score. They were both elite defenders and had insane athleticism.
