Coming from Akron, Ohio, LeBron James couldn’t ask for better luck as the Cleveland Cavaliers took him in with the number one pick. He got the chance to take his hometown to glory. However, through the course of his 19-year career, LeBron has diverted away from his Cleveland twice. The first time, he went with the Miami Heat in 2010 and then his recent team, the Lakers in 2018. But after the purple and gold’s struggle this season, it seems the King may be preparing for a return back home for a third stint.

During the All-Star weekend, James had all the Lakers fans in shock. With the question of a potential return to Cleveland, James dropped a major bomb and said nothing was off the table.

While talking to Jason Lloyd of The Athletic, James said, “The door’s not closed on that. I don’t know what my future holds.”

This sparked heavy rumors that LeBron may look to return back to the Cavaliers after this tenure with the Lakers is over. And now, it seems like he is making it more evident with time.

LeBron James wants to go home?

Recently, the Cavaliers gave some job upgrades promoting Brandon Weems to assistant General manager and Jason Hillman to Vice President of Basketball Operations. Shockingly, LeBron took to Twitter and publically congratulated Weems for his promotion within the Cavaliers organization. And NBA fans were quick to grasp the message.

Despite being 37, James continues to be one of the top players in the league. He has put the Lakers on his back averaging 29 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists, but the team hasn’t come up with much success. On the other hand, the Cavaliers are a young squad and have emerged as dark horses this season. With their impressive run, a move back home could be in the making for LeBron.

However, there may be some issues with a potential return to the Cavaliers. James has made it abundantly clear that he will do whatever it takes to play alongside his son, Bronny James when he gets to the league. At the earliest, Bronny can enter the 2024 draft. There is a high chance the Akron Hammer could be in his last season at the age of 39. His contract with the Lakers runs till the end of the 2022-23 season. Hence, the most they can get out of James would be one season unless they bring in Bronny.
