Five-time NBA champion Klay Thompson has struggled so far this season. After two years of missing out on a regular season due to injuries, Thompson continues to find his feet on the court again. Thompson has addressed his troubles and implored the NBA community to be empathetic. This has happened time and again. But this call for empathy hasn’t stopped fans from calling Thompson out.

During the 2021-22 playoffs, Thomspon had a three-point percentage of 38.5%. But now, that number has dropped to 33%. For Thompson, it is about getting conditioned to the regular season gameplay post his back-to-back injuries. Having said that, Thomspon believes that he “deserves more credit for battling through” injuries. This didn’t sit well with fans.

NBA Twitter rips through Klay Thompson

Fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure with Klay Thompson. Fans were quick to talk about other players who have had gruesome injuries. They stated no other player has spoken about their past injuries in the way Klay Thompson has. One fan, in particular, said, KD tore his Achilles and you ain’t heard a peep. Klay be moving like he came back from stage 4 lung cancer”.

Golden State Warriors get a big win over the San Antonio Spurs

The defending champions, Golden State Warriors, have started the season off on a slow pace. Defensively, the team has struggled. While the onus of the offense has rested on the shoulders of two-time MVP winner Stephen Curry. However, the latest performance of Jordan Poole has given fans a glimmer of hope. A hope that states that Curry isn’t going to be a lone Warrior for long. Poole’s 36-point haul helped the Warriors beat the San Antonio Spurs 132-95 on Tuesday night.

Thompson was reportedly rested for the game against the Spurs, hence he did not feature in the team’s win.

Despite this, Dub Nation is aware that Curry’s performance needs to be complimented by his fellow splash brother Klay Thompson. However, panic hasn’t set in the locker room yet. Klay Thompson stated that while the team is uncomfortable with losing, there is an air of positivity that keeps them going. He said that since the NBA season is long, the team wants to simply have fun on the court and not get discouraged.

Klay Thompson also said recently, I helped a team win a championship last year and people still want to discredit what you do.” Despite calling the haters out, Thompson believes that he cannot impress everyone. He is positive that the tables will turn and his time to dominate will arrive soon.
