During Game 5 of the 1997 NBA finals, Jordan dropped one of the greatest performances ever. The series was tied 2-2 and MJ dropped 38 points while suffering from illness and flu. After initially struggling in the first quarter, Jordan’s heroics helped his team win a crucial game.

Probably the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. I almost played myself into passing out just to win a basketball game“, said Jordan after the game.

But guess who also shared the limelight along with Jordan? You guessed it right, it is none other than Dennis Rodman. Officials fined him $50,000 after they found him violating rules surrounding hate speech. He complained about the ‘f***ing Mormons’ in the stands.

Rodman said, “If I knew it was a religious-type deal, I never would have said it.” Interestingly enough, this happens to be the largest player fine in NBA history.

Rodman and Jordan formed a great partnership

Six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan played a huge role in bringing Dennis Rodman to the Chicago Bulls from the Spurs. The trade turned out to be a great success as Rodman helped MJ and the Bulls win a second three-peat.

Playing with Rodman, Jordan averaged 29.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 199 games. On the other hand, Rodman averaged 5.2 points, 2.8 assists and 15.3 rebounds with Jordan.
