“Luka Walking Back on Defense Like He Bron but He 23YRS Old”: Luka Doncic Gets Destroyed by Fans for Lebron James Tendencies at Young Age

Luka Doncic is a WMD on the frontcourt. Nobody can keep him quiet for too long and his offensive numbers per game are proof of that statement. He is, indeed, one of the best players in the NBA right now. However, as a backcourt player, he has been exposed too many times. Many experts have pointed out that he is slow on the transition. He may not be a liability, but his defense game doesn’t help the Mavericks at all. A two way player, he is not. Hence, it became difficult for the Mavericks to defend against the Warriors.
Unlike the Mavericks, the Warriors have a variety of attacking options like Curry, Klay and Poole. They have Draymond Green, who is an elite defender and can contribute to the offense as well. Their role players, too, have proven themselves on the big stage. Andrew Wiggins’ two-way ability has been crucial to this series. Doncic was mostly kept quiet during Game 1 because of Wiggins. Doncic, meanwhile, might have scored 40, but he couldn’t stop his team from getting the “gentlemen’s sweep” this time around.

The Mavs are no more in contention for the top prize. Instead, they were given the “gentlemen’s sweep” by the Warriors. A 4-1 might look devastating on the surface but the Mavericks were close to winning in at least two of the games. They couldn’t keep on to their 20 point lead in Game 2 and in this game, they cut down the lead by seven during the third quarter but couldn’t capitalize on it.
Doncic scored 28 points but his shooting was mediocre, by the standards he had set himself. His field goal percentage was a middling 36%. Moreover, he couldn’t come up with his best during this elimination situation. The Warriors defense too stopped him from shooting well.
