Jordan was the face of commercials around the world, which also included ads against drugs. When Jordan visited a hospital to speak about drug abuse, he used a very interesting story while talking.

MJ was accompanied by NBA veteran John Lucas. Lucas ran his own anti-drug program and had been a victim of cocaine abuse. When Jordan and Lucas talked about self-control and other aspects of beating abuse, Jordan used a familiar line.

He said, “That’s when I first found out that basketball was a business. I just knew it. Man, I was so pissed off, tears come from my eyes I was so pissed off!”

The Chicago Bulls legend starred in a 1985 commercial about drugs which was filmed on behalf of McDonald’s. In the commercial, Jordan says, “So don’t blow it. Don’t do drugs. If you’re doing it, stop it. Get some help.” This commercial was an instant hit and has been used extensively in memes to date.

Interestingly enough, endorsements contributed to a major chunk of Jordan’s wealth during his time in the league. Despite being one of the best players, he was not paid high enough, as one might expect.
