The Chicago Bulls were the dominant team of the 90s and were the most popular team in the world. It was mainly due to the popularity and performances of Michael Jordan. He and the others won a three-peat from 1991 to 93. The super team under Phil Jackson was the envy of the league.
Jordan won MVP three times in a row and they had All-Stars, such as Jordan himself and Scottie Pippen. It looked like until Jordan was there, the Bulls would be unstoppable, but after his retirement in 1993, that wasn’t the case.

It was a mystery why he retired. Some say his father’s death might have influenced him to take this step. His passing away shocked Jordan, who was already exhausted. He then took this step and started playing baseball. Michael Jordan’s name value was still high and played with the Birmingham Barons.
However, MJ made a surprising return to the Bulls in 1995. But his return season wasn’t what he would’ve liked it to be. The Chicago Bulls lost to a young and talented team, Orlando Magic, in the conference semi-finals. A young Shaquille O’Neal took matters into his own hands and sent the Bulls packing.

That left him dejected and disappointed. But that made him more determined for next season. His trainer, Tim Grover, after the series asked him, “Let me know when you want me to see you.” His four-word response was, “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Michael Jordan and his Vengeance
This loss made him more hungry for another championship. Jordan wanted the next season to be his vengeance, and it was. The Bulls set a new regular-season winning record of 72 wins and just 10 losses. This wasn’t broken until 2016 when the Golden State Warriors won 73 games.
