As the WNBA regular season kick-started, the hoops community’s attention shifted toward the balling superstars in the women’s league. Nonetheless, hype always exists around the league in mainstream media and sometimes WNBA stars even pull NBA stars’ legs for gags. Similarly, a WNBA Champion trolled the Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry on National TV a few months ago. However, the tables turned tonight after she got called out for her poor fashion choice by her fellow teammate.

The 27th season of the WNBA tipped off on Friday with 12 teams from two Conferences locking horns. Moreover, the current season has created extra hype among fans as the Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner returned to the hardwood after her ordeal in Russia.

During Saturday’s game between the defending champions Las Vegas Aces and the Seattle Storm, Aces star Kelsey Plum took a sly dig at her own teammate for the color of her socks. She said, “Candace Parker, she’s wearing all-black shoes with white socks. Which is like, criminal, but she can pull it off,” during a mid-game interview with ESPN.

However, Parker’s fashion didn’t affect the Aces’ dominating act on the court, as she dropped 12 points with 4 rebounds and 5 assists in her 23-minute stay on the court.

The Aces dominated the Seattle side with a 41-point blowout. The defending champions had all their starting line-up players score in double figures with Jackie Young and Kelsey Plum leading the attack with 23 points each. However, Plum’s comments about Candace Parker stole the show. Some might say Parker had it coming after her antics with Stephen Curry.

As a promotional ad campaign ahead of the WNBA season, the Dubs superstar paired up with Candace Parker and Sue Bird for commercials for $11 billion worth vehicle retailer company, Carmax. In both commercials, the WNBA superstars troll Curry on various grounds. Bird trolled him for having more championship rings than him, including her college wins.

Whereas, in the other ad, Parker repeatedly tapped Curry’s phone out of his hand, leaving the Chef to say, “Did you just block me?” However, Parker continued to block as she said, “Feels really good.” A Business Insider article reported that 6’4 tall Parker intended to troll 6’2 tall Curry for his height in the ad.
