NBA Trade Rumors: Luka Doncic Might Get Major Help From This Brooklyn Nets Star

Luka Doncic and the Mavericks almost pulled off amazing run in the playoffs with their series against the Clippers. Taking a 2-0 lead in the very first round, Doncic and Co. looked invincible.
But defeats in game 3 and game 4 certainly showed the cracks in the team. With the likes of Tim Hardaway Jr. and Co. not connecting their shots and Doncic seemingly tired, the Mavericks looked clueless.
Even their third win was a Luka masterclass. But the lack of quality backup point guards, the Mavs depended a lot on Luka to create for his teammates. This limited the team and ultimately with an underperforming supporting cast, Doncic had much on his plate and Dallas ultimately crashed out.

Luka Doncic and Mavericks interested in Spencer Dinwiddie
The Mavericks have some serious things to solve in their roster. Be it their underperforming star in Kristaps Porzingis, or their lack of depth, this off-season will be key for the organisation.
While Trey Burke has shown flashes of consistency in the regular season, the Mavericks can have a better backup point guard. One of the biggest names available in the free agency is Spencer Dinwiddie. According to the latest report by New York Daily, Dallas might be interested in ready to bring in Dinwiddie.

Dinwiddie who missed majority of last season through an injury, was a regular contributor for the Nets for the last few years. Be it his scoring or his play-making, the Nets’ guard can do it all.
The 28-year-old can be a backup or a starting point guard for the team as well. He might not solve all the problems for the Mavericks, but the Nets’ guard will certainly be a great addition for the team’s rotation.

Considering the seasons he has had, the 28-year-old certainly is looking for a big pay-day. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Dinwiddie mentioned that he would welcome an yearly salary of around $25 million per year.

But the biggest concern however in this case, is that Dinwiddie hasn’t played for almost an year. Given how painstaking an ACL injury can be and given how it has hurt other players in the past, the 28-year-old’s stock might not be that high. Will the Mavericks sign the Nets’ guard or will they look for bigger names in this free agency?
