The Lakers were the biggest failure story of this season. Having 3 potential MVP caliber players on their team, the purple and gold missed the postseason altogether. While Anthony Davis and Westbrook had their troubles, the King was on fire all season long. Unfortunately, LeBron James picked up an ankle injury leaving him out for the entire season. And fans took to Twitter to react to the news.

LeBron made history with his record-breaking season. The 37-year-old was the only consistent performer on the Lakers. In his 19th season, the King averaged 30 points per game and made his way into multiple record books. However, he did not see any team success.

LeBron James receives heat despite the historic season

While James enjoyed the season from an individual standpoint, his team did not benefit much. The Lake show has won just 31 games with the plague of injuries ruining their season. In addition, there was no chemistry on the roster. But with LeBron’s season coming to an end, they went at him for chasing personal glory.

While the King did have his time, all his efforts were necessary. Despite averaging 30 points on efficient shooting, James’ efforts came up short every time. He had to push himself to the limit to even get the Lakers close to victory. Notably, even the times he scored 50, the Lakers won by 13 and 8.

When it comes to his individual achievements, The Akron Hammer made history. Notably, he is now number 2 on the all time scoring list only behind Kareem. In addition, he is the only player in the 10k points, assists and rebounds club. With the Lakers surely coming with a different look next season, James will look for his fifth year.
