The NCAA Women’s tournament wrapped up on Sunday after a dramatic final that saw the LSU Tigers defeat the Iowa Hawkeyes. After major twists and turns throughout the game, along with a lot of ups and downs during the tournament, a new champion was finally crowned. NBA legends like Shaquille O’Neal and Magic Johnson joined millions of others to congratulate LSU as they defeated the fan favorite Iowa.
The Iowa Hawkeyes became the favorite for fans to win it all because of Caitlin Clark. Clark had been on an absolute tear these past few games, and fans were certain that she would take her team all the way. However, things didn’t turn out that way as the Tigers cruised to a victory.

The game between Iowa and LSU still had Caitlin Clark as the highest scorer. She finished the game with a 30-point performance along with eight assists and two rebounds as well.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough as LSU came prepared to do whatever it takes to win and take the title home. Jasmine Carson and Alexis Morris led the Tigers in scoring with 22 and 21 points, respectively.

LSU Alumnus Shaquille O’Neal went to his official Instagram page to congratulate the women’s basketball team. Shaq captioned the post, “Congratulation @lsuwbkb you young ladies did it.” He added a few more words to the video which said, “Congrats to the LSU WOMENS BASKETBALL TEAM. way to go CHAMPS.”

Even Los Angeles Lakers legend, Magic Johnson, congratulated the newly crowned champions. Johnson went to his Twitter where he said, “Congratulations to the entire LSU women’s basketball team, coaching staff, administration, and the fan base for winning the NCAA National Championships!! Give LSU’s bench a lot of credit for helping their team win the Championship, they played awesome!”
Millions celebrate LSU winning the NCAA championship
Millions of fans joined Shaquille O’Neal and Magic Johnson, as they celebrated the LSU Tigers winning it all. One fan, under Shaq’s post, commented, “Amazing game! Iowa struggled the whole game. LSU was on,” followed by a fire emoji.
While another fan said, “Great squad. Plus, Mulkey on the floor – with the ref – was unreal!.”

A lot of the fans were happy that LSU won the game. However, many complained about the bad officiating. Nonetheless, the Tigers were clearly the better team on the night and deserved their win.
