LeBron James is not slowing down anytime soon. He’s almost an ancient figure, having joined the league the very same year Michael Jordan called it quits. And his consistency over the years has given him a place in almost every NBA record one can imagine.
LBJ is still years away from his retirement and yet he has already played close to 250 more regular-season games than MJ and Wilt Chamberlain. Heading into his 19th season, the Akron Hammer is all set to break some records and topple the all-time legends.

LeBron James chasing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Remember Kobe Bryant’s final post where he congratulated LeBron James for outscoring his career-high? Well, Bron has left KB miles away and is currently chasing the all-time regular-season scores of Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Now, King James is 1561 points away from Malone and 3020 points away from KAJ from cruising past them. Considering Bron (not 100% healthy) scored 1125 points even as he played just 45 games last season, one can imagine what he can do only if he keeps fit.

So given the pace, the Lakers’ leader will surpass KAJ for the all-time regular-season numbers in 2022-23. So in a way, he will have that record to his name wearing the Lakers jersey, before becoming an unrestricted free agent.

In his illustrious career, Bron has played a whopping 266 playoff games in a span of 15 postseasons. Now, he has a total of 7634 points in the playoffs alone and that makes even KAJ look smaller.
So in combined (regular + postseason) career points, LeBron James (42998) is just 1152 points away from KAJ (44149). So this record is very much gettable in the next 47 games only if Bron can average 25 ppg.
In fact, if Bron averages just 20 ppg and plays 350 more career games, he can become the first basketballer ever to have 50000 points to his name. This can happen if he plays for four more seasons and that’s very much possible.
