There are only a handful of players who had the hype a rookie LeBron James brought into the league. He was already a star before even making his debut in the NBA. Much like how millions around the world anticipated, LeBron was selected as the 1st overall pick during the 2003 draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Needless to say, he made a lot of money during his first season itself. He reportedly earned around $4 million in salaries during his rookie season in the league.

Interestingly enough, he splashed a huge chunk of his money on buying a mansion just a few months after entering the league. He bought a massive 30,000 sq-foot property in Ohio not even a year into his rookie 2003-04 season.

The mansion has 6 bedrooms in addition to 8 bathrooms! Moreover, it has luxuries such as a bowling alley, an aquarium and also a personal movie theatre! Talk about money spent well.

This lavish mansion cost LeBron James a whopping upwards of 9 million. To put things into perspective, the average salary in the NBA is around $7.90 million. James spent more than what the average salary in the NBA is in just his rookie year!

James currently has a net worth of around $1 billion according to Forbes. Thanks to his massive salary and endorsements off the court, LeBron is the only active NBA player to become a Billionaire. He has earned around $900 million (pre-tax) from his off-court activities like endorsements, investments, and other ventures.

He currently lives in a lavish estate spanning 13,000 sq feet located in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. James paid over $38 million to buy the estate in 2020 while he played for the Los Angeles Lakers.
