“In my mind, I got eight floors to try to close the deal,” Shaq told the interviewers. However, the 7’1″ giant couldn’t muster up the courage to say anything. Instead, he stood there dazed, as if in a daydream. In fact, the 2000 MVP feared that he would start stuttering if he attempted to speak.

Meanwhile, the floors passed by and the elevator came to a halt. Soon after, Halle Berry stepped out. Before departing, she exchanged pleasantries with Shaq. “She was perfect“, the 15-time All-Star said recalling the moment.

However, the four-time NBA champion couldn’t say what he wanted to say. In other words, Shaq’s story reveals that even the greatest of athletes could succumb to their nerves in crucial moments.

Shaq’s Halle Berry moments

This is, by no means, Shaq‘s only awkward encounter with Halle Berry. Once during a game at Madison Square Garden, the former Lakers center saw Halle Berry in the crowd.

At that moment, he was about to shoot a free throw. However, Shaq got nervous once again and had to call a time-out. Later on, he composed himself and took the shot and made it.
