“Curry from downtown, that’s good!” Such commentaries have become synonymous with the great Stephen Curry. For years on end, the 33-year-old has been in world-class touch. Setting the bar as high as it can get, fans expect nothing short of brilliant whenever Steph steps on court. However, a large chunk of his success can be credited to his wife and longtime best friend – Ayesha Curry. In fact, the duo have been close ever since their childhood.
Kick-starting his dream run in the NBA way back in 2009, Stephen Curry has been the anchor for the Warriors. A flawless guard in his own right, Curry has made a name for himself in the league, and has been termed as the game’s best ever shooters too. He is a 3-time NBA winner, and a 7-time All-star thus far. Yet, ‘Chef Steph’ seems to be ageing like fine wine, getting better with every passing season. And Ayesha has played a pivotal role along the way.

Believe it or not, the Currys weren’t always as close as they are now. In spite of being childhood buddies, there was a stage when neither of them could profess their love for one another. Married for a decade now, Wardell and Ayesha have three kids as well. But when they were of that age, they both had some problems. In a recent interview, Ayesha revealed how she wasn’t allowed to date at the time.
Seldom has Curry been rejected on the court. Yet, he recently spoke about how rejection from Ayesha sent shivers down his spine. Asked by the parents why he never asked his future wife out during their younger days, Golden State’s #30 said, “I always had my eye on her, but I got a little shaken [to ask her] for sure.” In response, Ayesha made a hilarious revelation. “I wasn’t allowed to date in high school. We always laugh that we were both focused on god,” she said. She proceeded to reveal that she dodged Curry’s first kiss too.
