‘Super Awesome Dynasty’: CM Punk Talks About Being a Michael Jordan and Bulls Fan During His Childhood

The city of Chicago was blessed with the greatest NBA player of all time, Michael Jordan. The Chicago Bulls and Jordan held a huge fanbase in their home city and all over the world. One of their star fans from the wrestling world, Philip Brooks, popularly known as CM Punk, is another boy from Chicago with admiration for the legend.
CM Punk was born in Chicago in 1978. He spent a part of his childhood there and then grew up a few miles away in Lockport. Coming from the land of MJ, the professional wrestler was a natural Chicago Bulls fan.

And for the Bulls legend, Punk had this to say – “Jordan back then and currently is still so iconic. And Jordan is life.”

This isn’t the first time that Punk has mentioned Jordan in his interviews. A few months back, on August 20, 2021, he made his AEW debut after a seven-year retirement. He told ESPN SportsNation about how he drew inspiration from Jordan and his famous docu-series, ‘The Last Dance’.
Often, he also imitates Jordan in his day-to-day conversations with the media. After that return to AEW, Punk’s official statement read, ‘I’m back’, which was popularly quoted by MJ on his return to basketball.

From NBA stars, young and budding hoopers, fans, to professional-level athletes; the boy from North Carolina is a legend for all generations. During the 90s, Michael Jordan ruled the era of basketball by winning six NBA championships. He proved to be the GOAT of the sport and to date is considered an icon in this field.
