“They Were Too Busy Individuals That Were Trying to Raise a Family…”: Stephen Curry Once Revealed the Biggest Lesson He Learnt From His Parents

Stephen Curry recently had one of the best years in his lifetime. He has won his fourth NBA title and his first Finals MVP this season. The player arguably already has a Hall of Fame-worthy career. He has also been acknowledged by his peers as one of the best shooters to ever play the game. Curry mentioned that he has won a lot by listening to his parents.
He was raised by his father and former NBA player Dell Curry and his mother Sonya. During an interview at Stanford University, a student asked Curry what family means to him. He was very straightforward with the answer.

“I mean family is everything,” said Curry, “there’s an example from you know the time I can remember obviously growing up with a dad that played in the NBA (and) mom who was an educator who started a Montessori school”. He continued, “They were too busy individuals that were trying to raise a family and have successful careers. The biggest thing that they taught us was that we always support each other. We always show up like they are here today.”
Curry mentioned about shared experiences and having each other’s backs. He said that it gives a sense of foundation as life throw’s everything at you. Curry has gone through many ups and downs and said that it was family that helped him get through those.

His family undoubtedly sticks with him through everything. Ayesha and he celebrate everything together along with his mother and father. They are certainly his foundation and his life. The fourth NBA title celebration showed us ample evidence.

Stephen Curry had a wonderful Finals series. He showed his fans why he is the best shooter of all time against the Eastern champions the Boston Celtics. The point guard averaged more than 50% outside the arc in four of the six games played between them. He averaged 31.2 points and 5 assists per game. Curry scored his highest points tally at Game 4 where he scored 43 points at 50% three-point accuracy and 54% field goal percentage.

He also scored 21 points in the first quarter of the first game. It included seven haymakers from outside the line. Curry had his way with the opposition and they almost could do nothing about it.
