Defense is not what comes to mind when you think of Stephen Curry. Arguably the greatest three-point shooter in the NBA recently put clamps on a young basketball player. Curry was recently spotted on a basketball court playing half-court defense. Stephen Curry is a very underrated defensive player. He began his career being exposed on the defensive end, but with the years, he has gotten his defensive and rebounding playstyle to an almost elite level.

NBA fans on Twitter were not feeling Steph’s half-court game. They were going at him for playing with youngsters half his age and not nearly in his league. They called his opponents “Walmart Workers” as banter to express how easy a matchup it was for him; Curry was exposing kids at his own camp. Curry routinely hosts his select camps to boost youngsters and create a community of young basketball players. However, NBA Twitter was not appreciative of Curry’s All-Star defense on unrated young players.

A tweet by Guru on Twitter garnered a lot of traction as NBA Twitter fans were fuming. It racked up 5000 likes and several re-tweets in just a few hours. The comments that appreciated his defense were sparse, as most were dismissive of his choice of matchups. Fans felt the video may have had an elite defense, but he should have defended against better players.

Stephen Curry really frustrated fans on Twitter by defending against kids. On the contrary, it is worth noting that Stephen Curry has played defense against the best players in the world on a daily basis.

Apart from being the top scorer in the NBA Finals and taking home the Finals MVP award, Curry held his own against the Boston Celtics with his defense. He held his matchups to 25% shooting and was an efficient rebounding machine. He is often the quickest player on the court with a knack for snatching rebounds.
